A young man tried to commit suicide by setting himself on fire after his family sold out his rickshaw on Saturday. Raza Hassan, resident of Pir Ismail Shah Darbar near Bahawalpur Bypass area of the city, attempted self-immolation after his family did not return him money that it promised him to do so after selling his rickshaw.

Hassan was shifted to the Burn Centre of Nishtar Hospital for treatment. According to doctors of the hospital, 15 per cent of his body was burnt and he was out of danger.
